Worked on a new to me Favorite brand reel for the first time. Swapped out original bearings for Boca Bearings Abec7 ceramics and premium Deuthlon lubricants. Now she's a rocket ship!

Okuma Coldwater line counter reel required some drag maintenance and free spool engagement repair. Before/After comparison on a Daiwa Tatula CT with upgraded Boca Bearings Abec 7 ceramics, Deuthlon premium lubricants, ReelX and Carbontex drag washers. Upgrade and replace your stock drag washers with Carbontex carbon fiber washers made in the USA. Here's how I set up my reel display using our new angled reel holders for both spinning and baitcast reels. Great for both home, shop or even a store diplay! After a deep clean and lube she's 100% again and ready for battle. Brought a Shimano Curado 300E back to life. These reels are true gems..Made in Japan, strong gears etc..Upgraded to Carbontex washers and Boca Bearing Abec 7 ceramics. This Okuma Komodo SS had seen better days. A loose screw in the case, tired drag washers, gritty old grease and even some corrosion were some of the issues diagnosed. A proper deluxe clean and lube treatment has now revitalized this reel for action. Yes our exclusive angled reel stands work for fly reels as well! |
